Should I take 18 credits hours of classes?

Anyone ever done this? If so, how much did you hate yourself? I am at 15 and I really wanted 16, but for some reason 3 out of my 4 classes are 4 credit hours. The fact that I am one credit hour off is eating at my soul.

No. Unless you hate college and want to get out. I took 12 my last two semesters and it was everything I thought it would be. I loved undergrad and while the real world isn't so bad, don't rush through college.

Really depends on the classes. If you get 2 easy classes that require like 4 hours of work per week, sure. Personally, I liked to keep mine between 12-15, but then again, I'm lazy as crap and have a ton of student loans to pay off now.

Did 18 once, and did 21 once. Both are highly over-rated. If you can swing a 9 week class that's 3 hours, do it. Then, the 18 hours isn't so bad.

It depends on the classes. I think I did it once, but they weren't especially bad classes for the most part.

I mean, I took like 12 hours my first semester senior year but one of those was aircraft design. Isn't the metric like 2 hours of studying/homework per credit hour? Yeah, that class should have been worth like 15 or 20 credit hours alone. That semester sucked ass...

Do 18 if that last 3 comes from a phys.ed elective. that way your having fun doing something that you like. Ie: golf, bowling, etc.

Otherwise stay the summer and knock out 2 classes. Trust me it's a helluva lot more relaxing and fun to do that. Work a pt. time job, take 2 classes, your still in the study mode but you're not stressing out and getting back to the fall semester is friggin easy and your into it right away. no grade slip trying to adjust to academia, plus the summer has girls who are also staying to do the same thing and there's no seasonal douche-bags (traditional fall/spring drunk dudes) blocking the hell out of your awesome moves!

I did 18 for a couple semesters. I liked it. Helps if you can schedule easy classes or if you have higher intelligence. Saves some money, plus you'll be on easy street when time comes to graduate, or if you want to collect a diploma early, because you've gotten a real job and want to actually contribute to society and collect an paycheck for yourself.

This semester I am taking 18 credit hours and I don't hate myself too much

*sobs uncontrollably*

But seriously, I am taking 4 4-credit science courses (with labs) and 2 credits of research and so far I am doing okay. I guess it depends on the type of classes you are taking and how much work outside of the classes you have to do... if they involve lots of reading or papers, then 18 may be to much (for me at least). 18 was the most I could take without having to pay more $$, otherwise I would have taken 3 credits of research

Ive taken 5 classes @ 3 credits per class for 2 years now. and i work 25+hours a week. Im still pulling a 3.95gpa. It wasnt hard. I just had lots of late nights the days before things were due haha. I also tried to mimic highschool since i wanted to still have an 8-3 school day and not slack from that habit.

Now that im just about to get my associates degree, i still have no clue what i want to do. So, looking back in hindsight, maybe take your time and hang back on 4 classes and figure it all out. Im not falling victim to the "finish in 4 years pressure". I want to finish something i love. Not something i felt i had to.

Unless of course if youre getting things like scholarship or fa, all depends on whether or not your taking a certain amount of college credits.

No scholarships for me, my schools a bit stingy like that(seriously, I got a 16k scholarship to IU, but not Purdue. . .). Unless it is for athletes then they go all out.

I am definitely not completing college in 4 years, I decided to switch majors a year and a half into pharmacy. Basically I will do 5.5 years in total, so I might be done a semester early(the pharmacy program is a 6 year one, or 7 depending on the school).

Most of my semesters have been 18 credits. It depends on the classes, and honestly can be worth it. A lot of my semesters required that many, but if you make senior year super easy by taking more classes now, it can be worth it in the long run when senioritis kicks in and you are trying to find a job (which is a full time effort in itself).

If I were to qualify for music scholarship at other schools in the area (I didn't want to go far from home, true Mama's boy right here), I would've needed to major in music to collect any money.

18 is overkill. imo. Im learning its better to take a little time out and force yourself to explore a bit of life outside of the college's iron bars as well as the interesting things within.

Also, id recommend, if you can afford it, just take a class you'd always wanted to take. Sure it wont help you in your major, but take it because you truly want to. I took photojournalism and psychology. for teh lulz pretty much haha. Experience all the kinds of people, and just not the med or engineering students. There are some interesting people in these other classes im glad ive now met. Plus i learned a ton of practical information.

right now, i should be 2.5years for my associates. Then i think im gonna change majors to computer science... and i have no clue if its what i want, but im gonna give it a solid try and see if its something i like. My doors are open.

Good news, my school says after 12 hours, you pay the same as someone who takes 18! So adding a class is no problem.

People in engineering are either really cool or super arrogant. Its like they think they are smart, which they might be, but they are super dickish. So far though people seem nice enough.

Also my friends are computer science majors, they say its difficult, but it is a good degree. Although, I suck at coding so I hate it.
